"Done done and onto the next one"

Hello Friends! Happy new year, hopefully everyone is sticking to their resolutions so far (I'm doing well, I wanted to get more gym time in, get a little more Shaq-diesel) but I wanted to pick up the pen and say hello. Lots popping. Quick bit on "detectives", we're in limbo with the network right now. What makes this great is that at any minute we can get a big fat green light. The bad news is, in order for that to happen, a few more shows need to die. So that's a tough predicament, you never want someone else's stuff to fail so we get our turn. So for now, all I'll do is do exactly what we all do in the ham and cheese line at the grocery store. Take a number, be patient and stare off vacantly for a bit. The good thing is, things are lively there, there's so much love for DETECTIVES, I'm excited to show you all what we've been cooking.....

ALL OVER BUT THE SHOUTING

Hey everyone!

I saw this film last week about THE REPLACEMENTS called COLOR ME OBSESSED. It was a lot of fun and directed by the mighty Gorman Bechard. Have a look at the etaser clip! And it's playing some select cities, it's just a great rock and roll film, even if you dont know the band, you'll have some fun with this one.

In this clip there's Craig Finn from THE HOLD STEADY, I hope Gorman does a sequel about all of the fans of THE HOLD STEADY!

Enjoy the clip!

ROAM IF YOU WANT TO....

Hey everyone!

Summer is over? How? What happened? I havent even had a chance to get online with all of you and tell you all what’s happening. So here goes (deep breath)

Got on a plane, landed in Orlando, then got on a plane, landed in Philadelphia, got on a train ended up in New York to talk about a brand new show, great meeting and great show if the writers are all on board (torrential rain afterwards, no umbrella, soaked). Sending big (albeit soggy) love to those writers. Got on a train, ended up in New Jersey, sold my house, the amazing Mauro Giufrrida and Jeff Bader and Kort Dennis started filming a beautiful movie called SUHANI that I’d written the screenplay for, then “Detectives” gets picked up by a network! And goes from half hour to an hour! A week later it goes into turnaround (which means not picked up anymore!) am bummed until I quickly realize “wait, no time to be bummed I just sold a house, I now need to get a new house”, get a  house (picture below of the area, the great Dusty cash asked if I moved to Narnia, I don’t think that’s Narnia...

but it could be, so I’ll stock up on extra Lion chow) got on a train, went to New York, new network, new show, equally great people, equally great writers,new-yet-similar torrential downpour (had an umbrella this time FOOL ME ONCE NYC!) got back on a train, ended up in Philadelphia, wrote a neat little script, got the “green light” to film neat little script, get delayed on greenlight for neat little script, got in car and had a great meeting with some casting folks, and realized we all like the same Soccer team in England (small world when you’re in Philadelphia and talking about England), take off right after meeting in Philadelphia, end up in Avalon New Jersey, stay for one day, just long enough to realize I can get sunburned even at midnight and in the rain, get a call from a Los Angeles producer about Detectives….am oddly meeting with said Los Angeles producer in Pennsylvania, near the town where I grew up (Avondale represent!) get home to new house, hurricane coming, buy into the panic and go the grocery store and buy a ton of bananas. Seemed like a good idea. Hurricane causes damage, thankfully not much to Narnia, help other folks clean up, tried to eat all the bananas I bought before they got all mushy and gross, failed at that task.

So I think we’re caught up. This week I’m handing in some new scripted pages to a hollywood guy’s agent (you’ve seen the hollywood guy, he’s been in some fun stuff, these pages will be more fun stuff) booking a flight across the country and grabbing a ticket to the TRIBE CALLED QUEST documentary "Beats, Rhymes and Life"at the Newark Film fest. Q Tip had better address if he ever got his wallet back after he wrote “I Left My Wallet in El Segundo” or I’m demanding a full refund.

Hope you all are doing wonderful and have had some fun summer stories for me…come on, do some sharing! Also, if anyone needs some slightly mushy bananas, please let me know.

Take care and be good,
TIM
